It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #6

What I Read Last Week?

I skipped a week. So this post will be what I read in the past two weeks.

Saving June By Hannah Harrington
Feast of Fools (Morganville Vampires #4) by Rachel Caine
Someone Else’s Fairytale by E.M. Tippetts
Dark Frost (Mythos Academy #3) by Jennifer Estep
Dark Kiss (Nightwatchers #1) by Michelle Rowen

I participated in Armchair BEA which was a lot of fun. I discovered hundreds of blogs that I hadn’t visited before and had a blast visiting and commenting on many of them.

What I plan on reading this week:

I didn’t manage to read Lord of Misrule (Morganville #5) last week but will definitely read it this week.

I have a copy of Embrace by Jessica Shirvington on my desk… I can’t wait to start it. I love paranormal YA novels by Australian Authors 😀

I also plan on reading Florence by Ciye Cho.

I also made some more bookmarks this weekend. More ones with paper and magnets but they look very cute and adorable.

I’m also going to a second hand book fair tomorrow so I hope to pick up some bargains and fill my bookshelves with good books 🙂

What I Read Last Week?

Books I posted reviews for this week:

Cinder by Marissa Meyer
The List by Siobhan Vivian
Storm by Brigid Kemmerer

This was an insanely busy week for me. I’m behind on reading and didn’t manage to finish the fourth book in the Morganville Vampires series. So no Morganville Monday this week but Feast of Fools will be read and reviewed by this time next week.

I also received my first ever digital ARC from netgalley to read and review!  Saving June by Hannah Harrington has been read and I’ll post a review this week sometime.

Someone Else’s Fairytale by Emily Mah Tippetts is also in my to-read list for the next few weeks. It looks fantastic and I’m really looking forward to reading it.

Big assignment due this week so I’m not sure I’ll be reading much – but then again sometimes when I have the most to do I need the biggest distraction.

What I Read Last Week?

Books I posted reviews for this week:

Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep
Kiss of Frost by Jennifer Estep
Insurgent by Veronica Roth
Immortal City by Scott Speer
Midnight Alley by Rachel Caine

I loved the Jennifer Estep Mythos Academy series. I have preordered the third book, Dark Frost, which is released in a few weeks.

Insurgent was a fantastic follow-up to the first book in the series, Divergent. If you’re an Divergent fan then I can not recommend Insurgent highly enough.

Scott Speer’s Immortal City was a book I was really looking forward too and I felt a little let down by the characters but the plot was fantastic enough to keep me hooked until the last page.

I’m really starting to enjoy my Morganville Mondays. This series just keeps getting better with each instalment.

What I Plan to Read This Week:

I’m definitely going to read Cinder by Marissa Meyer this week. It’s sitting right here on my desk looking very handsome indeed with some of the bookmarks I made this week.

I bought a copy of Embrace by Jessica Shirvington the other day and hopefully will get around to reading it but first I need to finish reading The List by Siobhan Vivian.

I’m going to continue my reading of the Morganville Vampire series with the fourth book in the series, Feast of Fools.

This is the plan. But as John Lennon said, “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans,” so who knows what I’ll get up to. I have a few non-YA books I’ve been wanting to read but can’t seem to find the time.

What I Read Last Week?

This week was BUSY! Assignments for school are piling up and I just needed a break. Not much reading got done. But I did get to visit my niece – she’s five weeks old now and is incredible adorable. She loves to wiggle around when you’re holding her but thankfully I didn’t drop her. I’m not sure my brother, her father, would have been too happy with me if I did. But he did say babies bounce… I’m not so sure I believe him 😛

What I did read last week?

The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong
Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep
Kiss of Frost by Jennifer Estep
The Dead Girls’ Dance by Rachel Caine

I only managed to write reviews for two of them… but the two Jennifer Estep books will have reviews up early this week. All four books I read this week are paranormal books.

What I Plan to Read This Week:

I have started reading Insurgent. I’m nearly done with it too – only around 20% left – and will probably finish it tonight just before bed. This is a great series! Really enjoying it.

I still need to finish reading Immortal City by Scott Speer. I left it in the car the other day when I had to take the car to get serviced and then have been without it since Wednesday! But don’t worry – car was returned with my copy of Immortal City save and sound.

This week I also plan to be reading Cinder by Marissa Meyer. I was fortunate to win a copy from Emlyn Chand as a part of the Fairy Tale giveaway hop. It looks fantastic!

My Morganville Monday will continue with the third book in the series, Midnight Alley.

And some other book related news this week? I bought my mother a kindle for mother’s day. She’s thrilled. She’s wanted one for ages. She’s already started reading her first book on it and loves that I bought a case with a light in it so she can read in bed without disturbing my father. Now I just need some more books to suggest she reads… if only she liked paranormal books. Then I’d have wealth of suggestions 😛

What I Read Last Week?

I read a lot again last week. I love how I can read a whole book in one day- they are between 200-300 pages. The perfect number 😀

Shooting Stars by Allison Rushby
Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta
A Season of Transformation by Jayne Fordham
Blood Song by Rhiannon Hart
Glass Houses by Rachel Caine

The first four of those are all by Australian Authors. I had two 5 stars reads (one of which I knew I’d have because I loved it years ago and another one which was a bit of a pleasant surprise).

What I Plan to Read This Week:

I definitely plan on reading Insurgent this week (or possibly next week. In the near future for sure!). I’m really excited because I loved the first in the series and a little nervous that this one won’t stack up. But hopeful!

I bought three YA Paranormal books this week. – Blue Bloods; The Summoning; Marked. They were on special and I couldn’t help myself. So I expect to get around to reading them VERY soon.

I also started reading Immortal City! I love angels and reality TV so I have rather big expectations.

There’s so much paranormal on my blog I think I need to mix it up with some more contemporary reviews. Expect to read and review The List by Siobhan Vivian this week.

I don’t expect to read all six of these books. But I like this weekly meme because it gives me some order to my massive to-read list. This way I can sort of maintain it.

What I Read Last Week?

I think I overindulged with my reading last week. There was a public holiday on Wednesday (for Anzac Day) and so I spent the day curled up with a book. And this past weekend? It’s the wettest few days we’ve had all year. I had to brave the rain to go out and vote in the local election but apart from that I stayed inside all nice and dry with a few good books to help me pass the time.

Divergent by Veronica Roth (BRILLIANT BOOK! I highly recommend it)
The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa
The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith
Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Sisterhood Everlasting by Ann Brashares

What I Plan to Read This Week:

I’m planning on having an Aussie Author week so this week the plan is to read:

Blood Song by Rhiannon Hart
A Season of Transformation by Jayne Fordham (I follow her blog. She runs one of the best book blogs I’ve read)
Shooting Stars by Allison Rushby

So only three books planned for this week. But depending on whether the weather clears up – it may be another wet weekend perfect for reading.
